Conventional retro-reflective surface mounted studs are a false economy. Relying solely on the effectiveness of the vehicle?s headlight beam and the ability of the product to reflect some of that light back in the line of sight of the driver means at best they normally give only around 90m visibility.

By contrast, our SolarLite S Series Active Road Studs combine the use of retro-reflective strips with in-built high intensity LEDs powered by harnessing free solar energy, resulting in a solution that delivers 10x greater visibility of the layout of the road ahead, so up to 900m.

SolarLite Path

The SolarLite Path stud is ideal as a route guidance solution for use in areas where no mains power or street lighting exists to support guidance for pedestrians and cyclists in the hours of darkness.

SolarLite Path has been developed specifically to withstand the level of force that a tarmac pathway is exposed to along with a textured top surface design to maximise pedestrian grip.

The optical output of the SolarLite Path has been designed to focus light up to 25m away from each stud at a relevant height and angle to give the best guidance to pedestrians and cyclists in the hours of darkness.

The design also takes into account the impact on bat species, which rely on darkness for navigation and foraging. The SolarLite Path’s light is focused on the ground, reducing stray light that could disrupt bat habitats. With low intensity dimming features, the LED lights help maintain the natural nocturnal
environment, allowing bats to continue their activities without interference.
